Course Outline

By the end of this Microsoft Word Course you will feel confident working with long, complex Word documents. You will be able to format documents consistently, add a cover page and table of contents. You will also be able to insert images, tables and charts, and be able to format and edit them.

Session 1

How to format text and paragraphs, including using styles, amending styles and using themes. Insert and update a table of contents and an index.

Session 2

Use different page layouts, apply sections, how to use different headers, footers and page numbering within a document. Document navigation, how to insert a cover page.

Session 3

Work with images, shapes, charts and graphs. Understand different image types, copyright, how to wrap images, formatting images, and use captions.

Session 4

Work with tables – how to insert and delete columns and rows, merge cells, table design (for example borders, shading and margins). How to customise the Quick Access Toolbar.
