Technology should help people

At Just Click Here, technology is about people.

Digital tools should help people feel more capable, confident and included – not confused, pressured or left behind. This principle guides the way we design our training, create learning resources and use technologies such as artificial intelligence.

AI can be a useful assistant. It can help generate ideas, explain difficult concepts, create examples, support accessibility and speed up some repetitive tasks. However, it can also produce incorrect, misleading, biased or inappropriate results.

That is why we believe AI should be used thoughtfully, transparently and with meaningful human oversight.

Our wider ethical approach

Responsible technology use is about more than AI. Our approach is based on the following commitments.

People come first

Technology should support people rather than replace their judgement, creativity or expertise.

We aim to create training that is friendly, practical and accessible to people with different levels of experience, confidence and learning needs.

Accuracy matters

We take reasonable steps to check the accuracy of our courses, webpages, examples and learning resources.

Technology changes quickly, and software features can be renamed, moved or retired. Where something has changed or we discover an error, we aim to correct or clarify it.

Accessibility and inclusion matter

We try to make our resources as clear and accessible as possible. This includes using plain language, readable layouts, captions, alternative text and different ways of explaining or practising a skill.

We also recognise that AI systems may reflect gaps or biases in the information used to develop them. AI-generated suggestions should therefore be reviewed rather than automatically accepted.

Privacy and confidentiality matter

Personal, confidential or commercially sensitive information should not be entered into an AI tool without appropriate permission, safeguards and a clear understanding of how that tool handles information.

Just Click Here does not deliberately enter identifiable learner information, confidential client material or commercially sensitive information into public AI tools.

Creators and ownership matter

AI does not remove the need to respect copyright, licences, ownership and the work of other people.

We do not knowingly use AI to plagiarise, impersonate someone deceptively or present another person’s work as our own. Where third-party materials, quotations or resources are used, we aim to credit or licence them appropriately.

Environmental impact matters

Digital technology has a physical environmental impact through the equipment, infrastructure and energy needed to operate it.

We aim to use AI purposefully rather than generating content simply because we can. Where practical, we reuse suitable resources, avoid unnecessary repeated generation and consider whether a simpler tool could achieve the same result.

How Just Click Here uses AI

Just Click Here may use AI tools to assist with:

  • exploring ideas and planning content
  • creating draft text, examples or course activities
  • explaining technical subjects in different ways
  • creating or adapting illustrations and graphics
  • drafting code for interactive learning activities
  • generating fictional practice data
  • checking clarity, structure or readability
  • producing captions, alternative text or accessible versions of content
  • demonstrating AI and Microsoft Copilot features during training

AI is used as a supporting tool. It does not automatically publish content or make final decisions for Just Click Here.

Human review and responsibility

Content created with AI assistance is reviewed, edited and approved by a person before it is published or used in training.

Depending on the type of content, this may include:

  • checking facts against reliable sources
  • testing formulas, instructions and software features
  • testing interactive code
  • checking fictional datasets for errors or inappropriate content
  • editing language so that it sounds natural and reflects the Just Click Here approach
  • checking images for inaccurate, misleading or unsuitable details
  • considering accessibility, bias and inclusion

AI assistance does not transfer responsibility to the AI tool.

When Just Click Here publishes a resource, delivers training or uses AI-assisted content, we remain responsible for deciding whether it is suitable.

Being transparent about AI use

We want people to understand when AI has made a meaningful contribution to something they are viewing or using.

Where appropriate, you may see labels such as:

AI-assisted image: This image was created with ChatGPT and reviewed by Just Click Here.

AI use transparency: ChatGPT assisted with the code for this interactive feature. The feature was tested and edited by Just Click Here.

AI-assisted content: AI was used to help structure or draft parts of this resource. The final content was reviewed and edited by Just Click Here.

We use proportionate disclosures. We may not add a notice for very minor assistance such as checking spelling, suggesting a heading or rephrasing an individual sentence.

However, we aim to disclose AI use where it has made a substantial contribution to an image, activity, piece of code or published resource.

Responsible AI use in our training

AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot are already being used in many workplaces.

Simply giving people access to these tools is not enough. People also need the knowledge and confidence to use them responsibly.

Our AI and Copilot training encourages learners to:

  • understand what the tool can and cannot do
  • avoid entering confidential, sensitive or personal information
  • check important facts, calculations, formulas and sources
  • look for errors, omissions and possible bias
  • follow their organisation’s policies and approved-tool guidance
  • respect copyright, confidentiality and data-protection requirements
  • be honest about AI assistance where disclosure is appropriate
  • use their own professional knowledge and judgement
  • take responsibility for the final result

AI may help produce an answer, but the person using that answer is still responsible for deciding whether it is accurate, suitable and safe to use.

When someone submits, sends or publishes AI-assisted work under their name, they are putting their name to the result.

AI should assist; not quietly decide

Just Click Here does not use AI to make automated decisions about an individual’s access to training, suitability, performance or opportunities.

We believe decisions affecting people should have clear human responsibility and should be open to questions, explanation and correction.

An ongoing commitment

AI technology, guidance and regulation are developing quickly. Responsible use therefore cannot be treated as a one-off statement.

We will continue to review:

  • how we use AI
  • which tools are appropriate
  • what information should be disclosed
  • how privacy and intellectual property are protected
  • how AI affects accessibility and inclusion
  • how environmental impact can be reduced
  • and what people need to know to use AI responsibly

We welcome questions or concerns about the way AI has been used in a Just Click Here resource. Where we identify an error or inappropriate use, we will investigate it and make corrections where necessary.
