This Excel course is suitable either for beginners or delegates with a little experience. By the end of the day you will be able to create, edit and format a basic spreadsheet which includes formulae and charts.

Course Outline
Session 1

Introduction to Excel – the basics. Creating, opening, saving and closing spreadsheets. You will enter different types of data, insert and delete rows or columns, and resize and move rows and columns. Cut, copy and paste data. Correct mistakes. Learn how to move around a spreadsheet, and finally use basic formulas (including entering & editing formulas).

Session 2

More fun with formulas! Using basic functions (including auto sum, the MAX, MIN and COUNT functions) and absolute cell references. Using auto fill and flash fill.

Session 3

All about formatting cells (for example text font, size, colour, alignment, borders of cells, shading of cells) and conditional formatting. Find and replace, freeze panes, then sorting and filtering data.

Session 4

Charts (chart types, editing, formatting and exporting). Views in Excel, page breaks and printing spreadsheets (for example, page layouts, margins, orientation, grid lines, headers and footers).
